Some are just hilarious. But on the flip side, there are some great car names out there too, and in these few paragraphs, I’m going to attempt to list a few of them.
Lexus is arguably the best car brand name that Japan has ever come up with.
As it rolls off the tongue, Lexus just sounds luxurious, fast, high quality and sexy. In fact, it does not even sound Japanese. The fact that it nearly always ranks in the top 3 of various customer satisfaction surveys including JD Power is a testament to its rock solid reliability. In the same vein, Acura is yet another of Japan’s naming successes.

Born in the US in 1986, Acura has launched some extremely successful vehicles. To be honest, the brand may have been around for over 30 years, but you’d be surprised to learn that many Americans are not actually aware of where Acura comes from.
Like Lexus, it’s one of the most borderless brands you’ll ever find, and that’s part of their success. If a brand’s “color” or should we say home ground is not too strong, then it appeals to a wider cross-section of customers.
